General Background
Jay Miller has lived in WFB for 21 years. He is married to Donna Faw and they have 2 children, Douglas (27) and Anna (24). Jay enjoys running, golf and reading literature and history.

Jay’s education includes a B.A. from Duke University, a J.D. from University of Arizona College of Law, and an LL.M., Taxation, New York University School of Law. Jay is a member of the Bars in Wisconsin, Arizona, and Connecticut.

Jay has been a tax attorney since 1977. He specializes in representing clients who have disputes with the IRS. He has worked as Vice President and Tax Counsel for Northwestern Mutual in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he was responsible for advising and representing the company on tax-related legal matters, including IRS tax audits. He also worked as a trial attorney for the Tax Division of the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. where he was responsible for arguing tax cases in the United States courts of appeals.

Jay is an adjunct Professor at the UWM School of Business as well as volunteers at the UWM Low Income Taxpayer Clinic helping low income taxpayers who have disputes with the IRS. He also writes a Community Column at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

My goals for WFB while serving as trustee are twofold:
  • to solve our flooding problems
  • to revive the commercial district
I consider myself a fiscal conservative and pragmatist.
